We've put together some barrier games for EYFS, KS1 and KS2. These are great for building children's understanding and use of language.

Spoken language plays a critical role in literacy development — from early phonics and decoding to later reading comprehension. Children with poor language skills are at high risk of reading difficulties, but identifying and supporting these needs early can make a real difference.

Laisterdyke Leadership Academy introduced News Hackers to support KS3 students with speech, language and communication needs. Using current events as a springboard for discussion, the programme helped students build confidence, improve comprehension and engage more with the world around them. Flexible and easy to use, News Hackers has become a valuable part of the school’s inclusive, language-focused approach.
